Looking at productivity issues?
Telecommuters skip the stress and wasted time of the daily traffic grind, and skip the distractions and constant interruptions of office life. The "one-minute commute" means they sit down at their desks well-rested and fresh, and get right down to business. One study after another shows that telecommuters get more done, faster, and better. These are improvements you can quantify.
Thinking of moving your company into larger quarters?
Installing a telecommute system can cost less than moving or expanding your office. Compare the monthly cost of square footage for a typical employee, to the cost of a highspeed line (DSL or cable modem) at their home office. The money saved can be invested in upscaling your existing office, or it can go right to your bottom line. We can show you how, and how much.
What about supervising your employees?
The goal of management is to get results. Positive motivation works. Skipping the daily traffic grind is a tangible benefit that motivates performance. Conversely, if someone abuses the privilege, it can be rescinded. Employees who get used to "the one-minute commute" won't risk losing the time they gain each week. In effect, they become self-supervising, and you can concentrate on goals rather than process.
What about going "fully virtual?"
In some cases, a virtual office can replace a physical office altogether. If your business is all about information, or if your employees are always "in the field" (e.g. on client sites), you might not need a physical office in the first place. The system equipment can be installed in the home of an owner or officer of the company (e.g. in a hall closet). Routine company meetings occur by videoconference; large meetings can take place in conference rooms rented by the day, or at company luncheons at the restaurant of your choice.
Only for large companies?
Nope. Cost-effective for as few as three employees. And for medium to large companies, our present technology has a safe limit of about 300 employees (up to 400 in a pinch). Contact us for an objective study of feasibility, at no cost or obligation.
